In the case of the PMC6, the bass response of the resulting XBD monitor combination is extended from 39Hz down to 25Hz — giving genuine midfield monitor performance in a compact installation — and the speaker becomes a true three-way design. Also, since the mid-bass driver no longer handles the lowest bass frequencies, distortion is reduced, headroom is extended, and the mid-range frequencies gain extra clarity to lend vocals still greater realism and depth.

SOUNDALIGN™ Smart & Network Equipped

It’s simple to configure the PMC6 XBD system; connect the input directly to the PMC6, and add an AES3 digital cable to carry the main monitor ‘through’ output down to the PMC8 SUB. The two cabinets can be connected either to a LAN or directly to each other via their network ports. When you select the dedicated ‘XBD’ mode the DSP seamlessly combines both units into a single, larger-scale monitor. Further detailed configuration can be carried out from the rear-panel controls or using the intuitive SoundAlign™ browser-based software via the LAN connection, where both speakers appear as a single PMC6 XBD unit when linked.

Each monitor incorporates an internal web-server accessible over a wired Ethernet connection using a web browser on any smart phone, tablet, PC, or Mac computer. Loudspeakers can be controlled individually or in defined groups of multiple speakers. You can configure the input format and level, boundary mode correction, delay, and polarity options, as well as an EQ section with the interactive display offering five parametric bands plus high and low shelf sections.

Advanced Transmission Line (ATL™)

Structural integrity and accuracy are the most crucial elements when making any loudspeaker enclosure, and with PMC’s holistic design approach every element has been considered to enhance performance. Forming both the cabinet and housing the sophisticated ATL™(Advanced Transmission Line) are precision machined panels of highly specified HDF material, some as much as 40mm thick. With the consumer veneered models, they are prepared both inside and out with veneer that guarantees their stability and long life.
The accuracy of the joints, together with modern bonding agents creates one homogeneous, flawless structure that acts as the ideal, inert platform for the drive units to deliver pure, uncoloured audio.
