The Neumann PS20A can shield the diaphragm of your microphone from sudden bursts of sound which can cause a popping effect. The shield is "transparent" to sound passage and does not interfere with the movement of sound towards the microphone. The frame of Neumann PS20A has a diameter of 20 cm and comes with a 30 cm (12") gooseneck that can be attached to microphone stands with its clamp.
