Heinz ElectroDynamic Designs (HEDD) is a high-end audio manufacturer founded by Klaus Heinz (former ADAM Audio developer) and Dr. Frederik Knop. Drawing on a rich history in audio creation and reproduction, the German company builds handcrafted professional studio monitors and headphones in Berlin since 2016. The air motion transformer design offers electrodynamic transducers that move air faster than voice-coil, planar magnetic, or electrostatic systems. The piston-like movement of these drivers is complemented by a folded diaphragm that bellows air four times faster than other designs, delivering a headphone with a remarkably fast transient response across its 10 Hz to 40 kHz frequency range.

In addition to their sonics, the HEDDphone offers a striking design. They ship with a cable terminating in a studio-quality 1/4" headphone connection, connecting to the headphones via two 4-pin XLR sockets.
