HEDD | Heinz Electrodynamic Designs
Heinz ElectroDynamic Designs (HEDD) is a high-end audio manufacturer founded by Klaus Heinz (former ADAM Audio developer) and Dr. Frederik Knop. Drawing on a rich history in audio creation and reproduction, the German company builds handcrafted professional studio monitors and headphones in Berlin since 2016. HEDD’s advantage is the in-house developed signature Air Motion Transformer driver, HEDD Lineariser® and CoP Technology, as well as introducing an entire Phase Linear Sub-Satellite System.
Enjoy exceptionally accurate sound with the HEDDphone from HEDD. This pair of open-backed headphones utilizes air-motion transformers with polymide drivers to deliver a wide amount of dynamic range and a high degree of resolution. The air motion transformer design offers electrodynamic transducers that move air faster than voice-coil, planar magnetic, or electrostatic systems. The piston-like movement of these drivers is complemented by a folded diaphragm that bellows air four times faster than other designs, delivering a headphone with a remarkably fast transient response across its 10 Hz to 40 kHz frequency range.
In addition to their sonics, the HEDDphone offers a striking design. They ship with a cable terminating in a studio-quality 1/4" headphone connection, connecting to the headphones via two 4-pin XLR sockets.
