Genelec's Smart Active Monitor (SAM) system
The 8340A monitors are compatible with Genelec's Smart Active Monitor (SAM) technology - SAM technology allows these studio monitors to optimize themselves and automatically align their level, timing, and equalization of room response anomalies, ensuring that you hear the original nuances of your source, without leaving anything out or adding anything to your signal.

Genelec's Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW)
Like all Genelec 8000 Series monitors, the 8340A also features the advanced Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW). The revolutionary DCW has been further enhanced to provide extremely accurate control of the 8340A's directivity. Genelec designed this specially shaped, very smooth surface and integrated it with the enclosure. Its area has been maximized to achieve an astoundingly flat on- and off-axis frequency response. As a result, the 8340A has an astoundingly wide, flat frequency response both on- and off-axis. This also gives the 8340A superb imaging qualities and less listening fatigue.

As a Smart Active Monitor, the 8340A integrates closely with our GLM software, via which it can be configured and calibrated for your listening environment, compensating for detrimental room influences to create a truly optimised monitoring solution from mono to immersive.
