The Cranborne Audio 500R8 is a comprehensive hybrid studio solution. It combines an 8-slot high-current 500 Series chassis, a 28-in/30-out USB interface, an analogue summing mixer, a zero-latency artist mixer, and a monitor controller into a single 4U rackmount unit. Featuring high-performance AD/DA conversion and a reference-quality master clock, it serves as the central hub for professional analogue/digital workflows.

Integrated USB Interface and Summing Mixer
The 500R8 connects directly to a Mac or PC to provide 28-in/30-out USB audio recording. The discrete analogue summing mixer allows you to send stems from your DAW back through your 500 Series modules for analogue character before recording the final mix back into your workstation.

Professional Monitor Control and Communication
The unit features a high-headroom monitor controller with A/B speaker switching, mono sum, mute, and dim functions. It includes a dedicated talkback input with phantom power and automatic routing to all headphone and C.A.S.T. facilities, accompanied by a high-resolution 28-segment LED peak meter.

Zero-Latency Monitoring and C.A.S.T.
Two reference-grade headphone amplifiers provide high-power, linear monitoring for any headphone type. The analogue artist mixer allows for zero-latency cue mixes blended with DAW playback. Using the C.A.S.T. system, you can distribute four channels of balanced analogue audio over shielded Cat 5 Ethernet cables to remote locations.
