The Swiss Precision Handmade Tweeter
The heart of the A17-M's clarity is its new, in-house handmade tweeter. When the market had nothing to offer that met the rigorous demands of PSI Audio's engineers, they chose to create the entire driver themselves. This gives them full control over every step of the production, resulting in a tweeter with "minimum distortion at maximum power". This bespoke driver perfectly complements the overall design, delivering a high-frequency performance that is the epitome of absolute fidelity.   

Compensated Phase Response (CPR): A Flawless Soundstage
For a mix to translate, the stereo image must be perfect. The A17-M’s role as a "reference" monitor is secured by its Compensated Phase Response (CPR) system. A series of all-pass analog filters ensures outstanding phase coherence, creating a "perfectly accurate"  soundstage where every instrument can be placed with pinpoint precision. This is the technology that allows the A17-M to create a holographic sound image that is "vivid, lifelike" and rich with detail.   

Adaptive Output Impedance (AOI): Controlled, Accurate Bass
Achieving a powerful and extended low-end down to 44 Hz in a nearfield monitor without "boominess" is a significant engineering challenge. The A17-M uses Adaptive Output Impedance (AOI) to solve this. This analog system monitors and corrects the woofer's motion in real-time, ensuring its movement is perfectly controlled. This delivers powerful, extended bass that is also fast, accurate, and completely free of the resonance-induced colorations that can obscure critical midrange detail.   

Efficient Class A/B Amplification
The A17-M is bi-amplified with 170W + 45W of pure analog power. These are not off-the-shelf digital amplifiers; they are Class A/B designs chosen specifically for their clean signal reproduction and natural sound. This 100% analog approach is part of the "PSI Audio DNA" , negating the introduction of digital artifacts or latency. The result is not a speaker compensating for flaws with DSP, but a "pure circuit design done well".
